Robert Lee has been Chair of the board of directors for 12 years.
Robert Lee is the Senior Vice President and Creative Director at Global Strategy Group (GSG), where he leads creative strategy for Fortune 500, startups, and issue advocacy clients. Rob joined GSG in 2021 to co-lead The L@B, GSG’s in-house creative + digital agency.
Robert was formerly Senior Vice President, Global Creative Director at Newsweek. He has served as Vice President, Creative Director, at Kenneth Cole, as well as at Publicis, NY, where he’s best known for his work building the Champion athletics brand. Robert created Capital One’s now-famous tagline “What’s in your wallet?”. He has worked for Donna Karan on her philanthropy, Urban Zen Foundation, and various brands including Ralph Lauren, Microsoft, BMW, and many others. Robert has directed a music magazine with Craig Tilford, former art director of the seminal UK publication, The FACE, and continues to expand his creative horizons across various mediums.
He is also the founder of Howl Group in Brooklyn, NY, an advertising/design collective. Robert received his B.A. from Rutgers College in New Brunswick, NJ.
Kelly Morris has been a member of the board of directors for 11 years and is owner of Conquering Lion Yoga and the Infinity Call. She has been touted by New York Magazine and The New York Times as one of NYC’s premiere yoga instructors.
Marc Murphy has been a member of the board of directors for 9 year. He is a New York Times acclaimed chef who owns Benchmarc Restaurants which include Ditch Plains and Landmarc Restaurants of New York. Marc is also a judge on the Food Network’s TV show “Chopped”.
Michael Blake has been a member of the board for 3 years. Michael holds an MFA in dance from Purchase College, and has a 2010 Bessie Award for his work with Paradigm Dance Project. He began his dance career in the Murray Louis Dance Company, 1982–84. He joined José Limón Dance Company, 1986, dancing principal roles until 1991 and danced with Donald Byrd/The Group 1991–98. He performed in a national tour of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, toured with Cab Calloway in Cab Calloway’s Cotton Club Review, and appeared in the films The Tales of Cri Cri, Unsettled Dreams, and the documentary, Hanya Holm (Portrait of a Dance Pioneer). He was Artistic Director of the Joffrey Ballet School’s Jazz and Contemporary Trainee Program, 2011–17. He was a teaching artist at Mark Morris Dance Group, and was on the dance faculties of Hunter College, Purchase College, Mason Gross School of the Arts, Marymount Manhattan College and Ithaca College.
Michael Winsch has been a member of the board of directors for 8 years. He is owner of the Mercury Lounge and Bowery Ballroom.
Danielle Wilkins is a founding member of DASSdance and is in her 7th year as a member of the board. Danielle holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from The Hartt School at the University of Hartford and is currently the Program Director at Issaquah Dance Theatre.
Daniel Wilkins has been a member of the board since its inception in 2000 and is the founding Artistic Director of DASSdance.
