Important Information

  • Companies/studios may submit an ensemble work (2-6 min in length) for their Jr dancers (ages 9-11) AND an ensemble work (2-6 min in length) for Sr dancers (ages 12+)

  • IN ADDITION, participating companies/studios may also submit duo​s, trio​s, or additional ensemble work​. Total combined performance time for all pieces should not exceed 15 minutes  

  • All performers must be signed up for master classes on the day they perform (though we encourage dancers to take both days of classes!)

  • Dancers who do not wish to perform are still more than welcome to register for one or both days of classes, and can attend the evening's performance at no additional cost

  • Complimentary Lunch is offered between classes on Saturday and Sunday

SoloSpree Information

  • SoloSpree will showcase a number of solos overlapping every minute with a finale at the end. Solos should be at most 2 minutes long. Studios/companies may submit one Jr. solo and one Sr. solo per day.

  • Master Artist, Staphany Olalde, will be directing the SoloSpree. Solo dancers will have a special 1 hour rehearsal during Tech time to put the solos together, creating transitions and a finale.

  • SoloSpree participants must be good at working with others and ready for the challenge to learn from others and create something new together.

Crystal Serrano is a Seattle, Washington, native who began her dance training with John and Helen Wilkins at Olympic Ballet. She later attended The School of American Ballet before continuing her studies on full scholarship at Pacific Northwest Ballet.

 

Her professional career includes dancing with Oregon Ballet Theatre, guest appearances in Seoul, Korea, and Principal roles with Ballet San Antonio. She then joined Dance Theatre of Harlem under the direction of Virginia Johnson, where she spent five years touring internationally, with some of her most memorable performances in Brazil, Hungary, Lithuania, and Poland.

Following her tenure with Dance Theatre of Harlem, Serrano danced with Boston Ballet, further expanding her repertory and artistic range. Now based in New York City, she works as an international guest artist, bringing her experience and artistry to new audiences.

Emmy Award winning Koach Giggz is one of the most fearless choreographers in the industry. His west coast swagg mixed with his Southern energy, continues to captivate every audience that he performs for and every room he teaches in. Koach Giggz strives to continue to build unity between dance communities with movement and entertainment. 

Tyrone Crosby known as Koach Giggz was born in Compton, California, raised in Chickasha, Oklahoma, and moved to Seattle, Washington in 1999. In 2006, Tyrone extended the dance program at his former high school, from an after-school club to a year-round community program called Kutt 'N' Up serving as an anti-drug and anti-gang opportunity for the youth. For over 15 years, Kutt’N’Up held seasonal auditions for hundreds of youth in the northwest and traveled and performed all over the United States and internationally. N’ the Kutt dance studio also offered a safe haven for youth and professionals to explore cutting edge hip hop movement in a nurturing environment. Koach Giggz is the CEO and founder of what is today an extraordinary entertainment company know as Kutt ‘N’ Up Entertainment based now in Oklahoma City. Mr. Crosby has been a featured Master Teacher at DASSdance's All-4-1 DANCEPALOOZA since its inception in 2010 and has taught after-school programs at Garfield High School, Washington Middle School, and community centers all over Seattle. Mr. Crosby is the Choreographer for Langston Hughes Performing Arts Institute Summer Musical.

Phoenix Wilkins was born into a dance family; both of his parents were professional dancers and he started training at his father’s school DASSdance at the age of 7. Growing up he continued with DASSdance studying in Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, Hip Hop & Acro. In his final year with the school, he was invited to join the DASSdance professional company in 19 Stories at the Ericson Theatre – Off Broadway. Recently he toured to NYC with the company preforming at The University Settlement. Phoenix spent two summers on scholarship at Joffery Ballet School NYC. He also worked with Donald Byrd and Alonzo King during summer intensives. Phoenix had private training from Emerald Ballet Academy and with Balanchine ballerina Stephanie Saland. After graduating High School in June of 2022 Phoenix moved from Seattle to Santa Barbara to join the professional training program at State Street Ballet. In 2022, Phoenix danced the principal role of Cavalier for Inland Dance Theatre. He danced two seasons with Peninsula Ballet Theatre recently starring as Mozart in their premiere of Requiem as well as many other roles over his tenure. Phoenix is currently in his first season with Oakland Ballet Theatre in San Francisco.

Jill Marissa

Jill Marissa is a veteran of the Seattle circus world and has been coaching and performing aerial and ground acro for 14 years at schools such as DASSdance, Versatile Arts and Emerald City Trapeze. A former competitive gymnast and professional dancer, Jill is a life-long practitioner of movement arts. While performing on contract in a Variete theater in Germany with the Aerialistas, she was fortunate to work with Elena Borodina, a world-renowned hand balancer who introduced her to the art of hand balancing. She fell in love with the discipline and has received coaching from Andrii Bondarenko of Cirque du Soleil, among others. Her coaching style is grounded in solid technique that will give students a foundation to move into challenging acro skills with confidence.
