Nevermore was a horror-influenced performing arts event about humanity's inherent delight in viewing suffering and death, and the fading distinction between fantasy and reality in our technological, media-oriented society.

Nevermore ( May 2010 )

Nevermore celebrated the 200th anniversary of Edgar Allan Poe's birthday by presenting a decidedly contemporary dance theater production featuring spectacular choreography, visual projection, and spoken narrative. With constructs from the modern day horror genre and cable TV's "Ghost Adventures", this live installation delivered the viewer into 2010 urban-Americana. With Poe's "Raven" as a catalyst, our adventurers became twisted, lost, confused, losing grip of their senses and spiraling into violent outburst that end in death. Or will they?
Nevermore utilized the worn beauty of Washington Hall and Poe's dark and dramatic poem "The Raven" as unlikely partners to the high-flying athleticism of some of the sexiest dancers on the Seattle stage today. Nevermore was a thriller that reinvented audience expectations and took on the theme of violence in a fashion that stimulated us to think about our own personal investment in violence as entertainment.
