Outreach in the Community DASSdance provides outreach programs during each season in partnership with local youth organizations. Past outreach projects included participation in University Settlement NYC's "Open Door" program and performances at Washington State schools. This season, DASSdance is developing DASSdance: All-Terrain Outreach, a program that will bring professional dancers and artists into contact with youth, and give them the opportunity to create their own performance event. With All-Terrain Outreach, we hope to continue our relationship with University Settlement NY, as well as cultivate new relationships in Seattle with local community centers, the Rotary Boys & Girls Club, and the YMCA, and work to inspire a younger sector of the community to become excited about performing arts. This season's All-Terrain Outreach program features DASSdance's 2009 project, Fighting Water, as an educational tool to provide youth with professional dance training coupled with information about an important social issue: water conservation.
