"Fighting Water came out of my experience with my dancers, trying to teach them to let the movement happen on its own rather than controlling it. I used the example of being in the water you cannot fight the water to “make” it move you." -Daniel Wilkins, Artistic Director
Fighting Water (2008)
Fighting Water featured a choreographic model latent in the speed and lyricism of aquatic laws, meshed with a water-dispensing set, LED lights, visual projections of water imagery, a driving score and spoken word relating information and literary phrases about water that artistically demonstrated the pervasively vital necessity to conserve and recycle our waning natural resources.
